Schedule Virtual Consults for Rhinoplasty or Breast Augmentation

It’s not uncommon for men to develop excess breast tissue. From weight gain and chromosomal conditions to an increase in estrogen, there are a whole host of conditions that may cause breast tissue to develop in men. Regardless of reason, this tissue can cause embarrassment and can leave many affected men feeling self-conscious about their appearance.

Dr. Judge understands that making the decision to undergo a gynecomastia can be a transformative experience that empowers and restores confidence in her patients. She personally takes the time to get to know each individual she treats and customizes the procedure to meet their needs. This process involves discussing lifestyle, habits, and getting to the core of the patient’s aesthetic goals. Once she determines the best course of treatment, she works collaboratively with you to ensure the desired results of your male breast reduction are achieved.

Gynecomastia (male breast reduction) can give men a firmer, flatter, and more natural looking chest.* The procedure aims to provide a symmetrical physique and of course a secondary result of empowered confidence. During male breast reduction surgery, Dr. Judge will remove fat and glandular tissue from the breasts, and in some cases, excess skin as well. This is determined on a case by case basis and you will discuss this with her prior to undergoing the operation.

Performed under general anesthesia with a licensed anesthetist overseeing the procedure, this outpatient surgery takes around two hours. Excess fat can be removed through an open incision around the areola or using liposuction of a combination of techniques. Utilization of one technique over another is determined by your own anatomy and an examination with Dr. Judge. All of Dr. Judge’s gynecomastia surgeries are performed at an outpatient surgery center.

A male breast reduction is often times done in tandem with a tummy tuck or liposuction of other problem areas. Dr. Judge will discuss the best way to achieve your desired aesthetic during your consultation.

Expect to feel tired and sore after the procedure. There will be postoperative discomfort, but generally the pain is managed with oral pain killers and subsides within a couple of days.*

Although the patient goes home after the surgery and is expected to walk around, they will be unable to perform any strenuous activity and it important to limit movement so that the tissue may heal. It is advised that a capable adult stay with the patient for a 24-hour period following the surgery to monitor recovery.

Most patients are able to return to work within a week.*

*Individual results may vary. Not a guarantee.
