The desire for a slimmer figure is something that many men and women can relate to. Whether you are already doing everything right — eating a healthy diet and exercising properly— and still not seeing results, or simply wanting a jump start on your journey, there are countless reasons why people opt for liposuction.
The most popular cosmetic treatment available, Dr. Judge understands the intrinsic turmoil and frustration that occurs when a patient feels stuck and uncomfortable in their body. For those with stubborn weight that doesn’t respond to traditional methods of loss, power-assisted liposuction is an excellent solution.* Dr. Judge genuinely believes in collaborating with her patients to deliver results that lead to a transformative shift in confidence. By listening to her patient, she is able to provide personalized results that tailor to individual desires: while the technique stays the same, Dr. Judge works to provide the best result for each patient which means that no two surgeries are alike.
BEFORE THE PROCEDURE
Prior to the operation you will meet with Dr. Judge to discuss your specific aesthetic goals. The flexibility of the procedure means you and Dr. Judge will work together to decide on what treatment areas make the most sense to help you achieve your desired look. For many, this procedure can be life-transforming and Dr. Judge aims to give you results that empower you and leave you feeling confident. The best part about liposuction? Once those fat cells are removed, that’s it! Those fat cells are not coming back and you do not put on weight in other areas instead.* Liposuction is a long term and controlled way of removing fat.*
Liposuction can be used to treat localized fat deposits in the following areas*:
Flanks (love handles)
Performed under general anesthesia with a licensed anesthetist overseeing the procedure, this outpatient surgery can take anywhere from 1 to 5 hours depending on the area(s) being treated. Typically, Dr. Judge’s liposuction surgeries are performed at an outpatient surgery center.
During the operation tiny incisions will be made near the area being treated, and when possible, within the fold or natural creases in the skin. Intact fat cells are removed from the body using suction with a large cannula. Patients who have greater skin elasticity will achieve the smoothest results.
There will be postoperative discomfort, but this is typically managed with oral pain killers and will subside after a few days.*
Patients can typically return to work after 3 to 4 days, but any strenuous activity should be avoided for 4 weeks.* Although the patient may go home after the surgery, it is advised that a capable adult stay with the patient for a 24-hour period following the surgery to monitor recovery.
After Liposuction, it’s important to wear your compression garment or elastic bandages as directed by Dr. Judge. It is normal for swelling to persist for 2-3 months after surgery.*
