A typical Mommy Makeover will include all or some of the following procedures: breast lift, breast augmentation, tummy tuck and liposuction.
Prior to the operation Dr. Judge will sit down with you to determine exactly what your aesthetic goals are. As a woman, she understands that giving birth is a transformative experience in and of itself, and that all bodies respond differently. During an open-hearted discussion she will work collaboratively with you and listen to what you desire. Choosing to undergo a Mommy Makeover can be a big decision, and Dr. Judge is here to listen to your needs. She is avid about making sure it’s the right decision for you and that your outcome is tailored to your expectations and desires.
The operation itself will depend on your prior discussions with Dr. Judge. Depending on which procedures you choose to undergo the duration of the surgery. The operations will be performed under general anesthesia with a licensed anesthetist overseeing the procedure, depending on the operations, the surgery can take anywhere from 1 to 5 hours. All of Dr. Judge’s Mommy Makeovers are performed at an outpatient surgery center.
There will be postoperative discomfort, but this is typically managed with oral pain killers and will subside after a few days.
Drainage tubes may be left in for 4 to 10 days post-op to collect extraneous blood and fluid.* Additionally, a soft bra may be worn for breast augmentation and breast lift, and a compression garment worn for a tummy tuck or Brazilian Butt Lift. The individual nature of the surgery will define the post care protocols.
Dr. Judge will discuss all aspects of your Mommy Makeover during your consultation to ensure proper expectations are made and met. Although the patient may go home after the surgery, it is advised that a capable adult stay with the patient for a 24-hour period following the surgery to monitor recovery.
Swelling will typically subside within the first few weeks and there will be regular check-ins with Dr. Judge to ensure proper healing.* Strenuous activity should be avoided for 4-6 weeks. Scars from the procedures will naturally fade within a few months following operation.*
